Former Chicago Mayor Rahm Imanuel told The Democratic Party on Thursday that he needed to address the economic struggles of young men in front of the country.
One in Column for Washington PostImanuel, who also worked as the Chief of Staff of former President Obama, directed his fellow Democrats that if they actually want to join Americans, they do not need a achievement marketing, but instead, they need to overcome the economic problems that men are causing shame and despair.
“This is not a marketing problem. It is not only a matter of Democrats to find our own rogan, or to use Ticketkok better, or use more ‘authentic’ language … If Democrats want to save our democracy by fighting against economic inequality simultaneously, we need to address half a part of the country, insulting and anger,”

Imanuel said that there are two overlapping crises in the US, lack of affordable housing and “shame and anger” felt by many youth in this country.
“These patterns are two sides of the same coin. Just 30 years ago, the average age of the first house buyers was 28. Today, it is 38. In 2000, the single-family house had a distinctive price three times, which was the annual income of the family-today, it’s six times,” he wrote.
The former mayor said that it is one of the primary reasons that “a full third of young adults now reports a sense of despair.”

He continued, given that men are particularly influenced by this reality, whether democratic figures want to accept it or not.
“But, as unpopular, it may be to say in some quarters of my party, the crisis affects a gender with special power,” he said. “Whether or not, American men are still raised to believe that their role is to act as providers and protector. And when men whose self-values are tied in that aspiration, they realize that they will never be able to buy a house, they are bound to feel ashamed and anger.”
Imanuel argued that, instead of going away from the issue or giving priority to others, his party needs to address it, as it is the real way of “saving our democracy”.
He said, “Democrats talk about democracy all the time.
He said, “It should not be some of the secrets: American democracy almost unstable when the American dream became ineffective. And because it is not a coincidence, we need to deal with the Homebucing Challenge,” he said.

Imanuel, who said in June, is considering running for the President on a Democratic ticket in 2028, making media rounds in recent months to advise his party to be advised how to bounce back from loss of 2024 presidential election.
During an interview on CNN in July, Emanuel provided some hard love for the party, hosting CNN’s Dana Bash, “Just to understand how bad we are-Democratic Party is currently less popular than Elon Musk. It should be like a wake-up call-it’s bad.”
