Parents were requested to be a part of March on August 9 from BJP leader Suvendu officer, where no party flags will be held
On Saturday, the sad parents of the RG Car Medical College victim said on Saturday that they were reaching various political parties to join Nabanna Abhajan (March West Bengal Secretariat) on 9 August, seeking justice for the drug, which was raped at his workplace exactly a year ago.
Parents were requested to be a part of March on 9 August from BJP leader Suvandu Adikari, where no party flags will be held and the only slogan ‘We demand justice’.
The official told reporters that he and other BJP leaders would participate in the rally, call for a thorough investigation into a big conspiracy behind the incident and demand that all the criminals involved in the heinous crime be brought to justice.
Speaking to reporters in Sodpur near Kolkata, the victim’s father, said: “CPI (M), Congress and BJP – We are urging all parties except TMC, we are urging to join this rally for justice – not only for our daughter, but for every woman.”
Asked why the ruling Trinumool Congress (TMC) was being excluded, he alleged: “Because TMC leaders and administration tried to delight my daughter’s death investigation and tried to settle their body as soon as possible.”
Reacting to family allegations, TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh said, “While we sympathize with the parents of the RG car victim, what they are saying is unfortunate. Their actions are inspired and influenced by some quarters.”
Ghosh further stated that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), after handling the case, did not find anything new beyond the findings of the original police investigation and a person, who was found behind the abusive crime, has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by the court.
