Ukraine’s President Volodimer Zelansky has accused Russia of “everything can do” to try to end the war to stop a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
US President Donald Trump has demanded to bring the two leaders together, but he said on Friday “it is like oil and vinegar … they do not meet very well”.
Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov said that Putin was ready to meet the Ukraine leader, “when the agenda is ready for a peak, and the agenda is not ready at all, accusing him of”, Zelancesi’s saying “not to do everything”.
After a deep week of diplomacy, in which Trump first met Putin in Alaska and then with European leaders in Washington, Zelancesi, the US President said the war was getting the most difficult, which he tried to stop.
Trump on Monday said after a call with the Russian leader that he started the system for the Putin-Jalensky summit that he would join later.
The President of Ukraine has supported the move, but he has sought security guarantee from Western colleagues to prevent any future Russian attack in the event of a peace agreement: “Unlike Russia, Ukraine is not afraid of any meeting between leaders.”
On Kiev’s visit, NATO general secretary Mark Rute said that Trump was aiming to “break the dedallock” and the alliance was working on a strong security guarantee with the US and Europe to ensure that “would never try to attack Ukraine again”.
Speaking with Rutte, Zelansky said he wanted Ukraine Safety guarantee To reflect Article 5 of NATO, which considers an attack on an attack against all NATO members on a member of the alliance.
“This is the beginning of a large venture, and it is not easy, because guarantees include what our partners can give to Ukraine, as well as what the Ukrainian army should be, and where we can get opportunities to maintain our strength,” Zalensky said.
Rute said that Alliance was working to define the guarantee with Ukraine, stating that he would focus on strengthening the Ukraine’s army as much as possible and incorporating Western security commitments. He said that “it was very early to say what the result would be”.
The Foreign Minister of Russia, stating NBC News, hoped for any possible summit that “no meeting is planned”.
Sergei Lavarov said that Russia had agreed to show flexibility on several issues raised by Trump at the US-Russia summit in Alaska last week.
He accused Ukraine of not showing the same flexibility in later conversation in Washington, convicting Ukraine for obstructing progress towards a peace deal.
Lavarov said that it was “very clear to everyone that there are many principles that Washington believes that it should be accepted”.
He said that this includes no NATO membership and regional issues discussed for Ukraine: “Zelancesi said that everything is not,” Lavrov said.
He told the BBC, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy, that Putin was demanding regional concessions from Ukraine, which was a “trap that Putin wants we want us to walk”.
“We are forgetting that Russia has not given a single concession and they are the ones who are aggressive here,” Kalas said.
Later on Friday, Putin stated that the Russian-US had “light at the end of the tunnel” for relations, referring to the last week meeting with Trump in Alaska, which he called “very good, meaningful and clear”.
The Russian leader said that Trump’s “leadership qualities” would help restore relationships with recent climb.
He did not mention a meeting with Ukraine or Zelansky.
Despite the latest efforts to the broker for a peace deal, Russia launched one of its heaviest attacks on Ukraine on Thursday, launching 574 drones and 40 missiles a night.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone blew up an oil pumping station in the Russian region of the Branca, which prevents oil delivery with a dragaba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia – the third attack on the pipeline in nine days.
Hungary and Slovakia are largely dependent on the drew pipeline for their oil supply, and Budapest says that the operation may take at least five days since the onset. Two member states of the European Union have complained to the European Commission.
The European Union sought to cut Russia’s energy supply after a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and aims to exclude Russian oil and gas by the end of 2027.
Hungary Prime Minister Victor Orban wrote to President Trump to complain about the attack on the pipeline, and his officials posted a handwritten response from Trump.
“Victor – I don’t like to hear this – I am very angry about it. Tell Slovakia.”
“You are my great friend,” he said.
