When asked about the expansion, Shumar, Shumar told Parnas, “No F ‑, ING is not the way.”
“We will fight him with teeth and nails. … It needs to get the Congress to approve it, and not only we are not going to approve it, but there are some Republicans that do not like it.”

Trump on Wednesday confirmed that he was asking the Congress to increase his control over the metropolitan police department beyond 30 days beyond the Home Rules Act.
Trump still claims that if the Congress does not cooperate, it can declare the national emergency unilaterally and expand the period unilaterally.
“Okay, if it is a national emergency, we can do it without the Congress. But we expect to be very early in front of the Congress. And again, we think we think Democrats will not do anything to stop crime, but we feel that Republicans will do it almost unanimously. So we will need a crime bill.
“You can’t have 30 days,” he said. “We are going to do it very hurry, but we want extension. I don’t want to call a national emergency, but if I have to do it I will.”
