In Texas, the Republican Push, which comes at the insistence of Trump, is part of a comprehensive effort to pad the GOP across the country to pad the majority of its razor-skinned house, to control the chamber in 2026 midterm, when the party traditionally faces political headwinds and loses seats.
Newsom demands Trump abandoning Texas redistribution
Trump and his political team are targeting to stop what happened during their first term at the White House, when Democrats returned to grab the majority of the House in the 4th of 2018.
While the Republican push in Texas does not face constitutional obstacles to promote the existing Congress map, Newsom’s path in California is very complicated.
The Governor is emphasizing to hold a special election this year so that the voter can get voter approval to undo the constitutional amendments that construct the Nonpartison Recovery Commission.
A two-thirds of the majority votes in the California Legislature with Democrats will be required to hold the referendum early next week. Leaders of the Democratic Party are confident that they will have votes to forward constitutional amendments through the legislature and the new proposed Congress map.

Newsom said that his plan is “not complex. We are doing this in response to a President of the United States who called a governor in the state of Texas and said, ‘Search me five seats’. We are doing this in response to that act.

The National Republican Congress Committee (NRCC) said, “Newsom has made it clear: it will cut the Constitution of California and trample democracy-a craze, self-serving playbook where the people of California are later, and Shakti is the only priority.”
But Newsom, while defending his actions, said, “We are working through very transparent, temporary and public process. We are putting maps on the ballot and putting power to people.”
Thursday’s presence by Newsom, 2028 is considered a possible contender for the nomination of Democratic Presidential President, also served as a funding kickoff to raise the large scale campaign cash in California.
Shwarznegger’s new role: Push back against Newsom’s redistribution drive
According to public opinion voting, Nonpartison Redistricting Commission created 15 years ago, 15 years ago, is popular among most California.
This is why Newsom and California Democratic MPs did not abandon the Commission completely, but temporarily replaced it by the legislature for the next three election cycles.
Newsom said, “We will confirm our commitment to independent redistribution of the state after the 2030 census, but we are asking voters to make mid -contracted for their consent.”
Opposition to their efforts is helpful in the Nonpartison Commission by many.
The most visible members are likely to be Schwarzenegger.

“He says gerymandering evil, and he means he thinks that it is really evil for politicians to take power from people,” Schwarzenegger spokesman Daniel Cachel told Politico earlier this month.
“He is opposing what Texas is doing, and he is opposing the idea that California will run downwards to do the same thing.”
During his tenure as a governor, Schwarznegger played a role in passing constitutional amendments in California in 2008 and 2010, which took the power to attract state legislative and Congress districts away from politicians and placed it in the hands of an independent commission.

Pitni said, “This is going to take a lot of effort and money to motivate the Democrat and to show them in elections,” Pitni added Newsom’s effort, saying, “Everyone is about to inspire those who do not like Trump.”
