The landmark cooling towers have been demolished at a decommed power station in Nottinghamshire.
The contractors said that leveling eight 114 meters (375 ft) structures at the Cotum Power Station was the largest demolition of cooling towers.
The coal-based complex opened in 1968 was capable of generating enough electricity for 3.7 million houses and was originally designed to start for only 30 years, but its life was extended by 2019, when it was closed for good.
The operation, which took place on Thursday, was a ninth demolition incident on the EDF -owned site as part of a phased withdrawal.
