New Delhi: India Block on Sunday launched a faster attack on the Election Commission on systematic investigation and amendment (SIR) exercise, alleging that the voter deletion process is associated with opacity, flawed data and institutional ego. Citing EC data that more than 63 lakh voters were found “not on address” due to death, migration or other causes, the opposition demanded that the practice be stopped immediately.He also said that the issue is not limited to India block voters alone, NDA allies are also being affected, and people have vowed to take the matter.Here are the major quotes of the press conference:Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Congress):
