Mid-Air Deaths: Rare but not unprecedented
While rare, occur during commercial flights occur and often require emergency landing. In October 2024, a Turkish Airlines pilot collapsed and the mid-object died, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing in New York. Similarly, in February 2023, a flight from Dubai to Dhaka had to be converted into Karachi after the death of a passenger during his journey. These incidents serve in response to pressure in the form of an unpredictable nature of in-flight medical emergency and an important role played by the cabin crew.
