New Delhi: The government on Thursday shared the annual cleanliness survey with Indore, Surat and Navi Mumbai, which took to the top three positions. Indore maintained the tag of the cleanest city in the country at the eighth consecutive time.President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards in the 9th edition of the Clean Survey Awards ceremony. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was also present at the event.The ministry has also shared a list of cities that emerged as new entrances in the list of cleanest cities in India. Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Lucknow have emerged as the new clean cities of India.This year, the awards are presented in 4 categories:a) Super Clean League City B) Top 3 Clean City in 5 Population CategoriesC) Special Category: Ganga Town, Cantonment Board, Safimitra Security, Mahakumb D) State Level Award – Clean City State/UT.Vijayawada made it fourth in the first category of awards for Super Clean League cities. A total of 78 awards have been presented this year. Cities are divided into five population division for the first two categories: (1) More than million cities:> 1 million population (2) Big cities: 3 – 10 lakh population (3) Medium City: 50,000 – 3 lakh population (4) Small town: 20,000 – 50,000 population (5) Very small town: <20,000 populationIn the second population category of awards for league cities, Noida emerged as the cleanest city, followed by Chandigarh, Mysuru, Ujjain and Gandhinagar. In the third category of super clean cities, NDMC first came, Tirupati second, followed by Ambikpur and Lonavala. In the fourth category of awards, Vita got the first rank in Maharashtra, Saswad finished second, Deoli Pavara finished third and Dungarpur finished fourth.,The ranking for the Clean Survekshan 2024-25 is determined using a smart, structured approach and using 10 parameters and structures of 54 indicators to adopt a smart, structured approach and evaluate service distribution. ‘Best Ganga Town’ was honored with Prayagraj, while Secunderabad Cantonment received the honor of ‘Best Cantonment Board’ in the recognition of its outstanding hygiene efforts. The GVMC Visakhapatnam, Jabalpur, and Gorakhpur were named ‘Best Saifimmimitra Surakshat Shehar’ for their extraordinary dedication to ensure cleanliness and dignity of cleanliness workers. Additionally, the state government of Uttar Pradesh, the Primary Mela Officer, and the Prevention Municipal Corporation were given special recognition for his exemplary urban waste management during the world’s largest gathering, which saw an approximate presence of 660 million people.
