An Air India flight from Kochi to Delhi ended the take-off due to a technical issue, the airline said on Sunday.
Flight, AI 504, was to take-off from Cochin International Airport at 10:40 pm. However, a technical issue was revealed during the take-off roll.
An Air India spokesperson said, “The Cockpit crew decided to shut down the take-off run after standard operating procedures and brought the aircraft back to check for maintenance.”
The spokesperson said an alternative aircraft was being deployed to operate the flight, which was later re -determined to depart.
“All passengers have disintegrated and have supported them by our grassroots colleagues in Kochi. The inconvenience of passengers caused by this unexpected situation is honestly regretted. In Air India, the safety and well being of passengers and crew is our highest priority,”.
Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden said on Facebook to share a picture of the flight on the runway in Kochi, saying that there was “something unusual”.
“Something unusual with this flight AI 504 … It just felt like a flight skid on the runway … and hasn’t taken it yet …” Ernakulam MP said in the post.
