A teenage couple from Pakistan decided to face opposition from their families, cross the border and live for themselves in India. However, after visa rejection, he died in the desert in Rajasthan as a result of his choice of “illegal”.
A news agency reports said that after facing several obstacles to secure the Indian visa and to face rejection in the process, the 17 -year -old boy and the 15 -year -old girl took a frustrated decision and stopped walking in India via Thar Desert Route.
Despite the harsh conditions, the minor couple managed to cross in Jaisalmer. However, climate status did not support him in his journey. A local worker said that both died due to dehydration.
‘Empty Jerry Cain, disintegrated body’
Police found disintegrated bodies of teenagers, near the boy’s face with an empty Jerry, on Saturday, June 28 in Tanot area.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Chaudhary said that the body of the boy was found under a tree, wore a sky-blue salwar and kurta. An empty Jerry Can, in which the water was probably earlier found near his face. The police also discovered a yellow scarf and a mobile phone near his body.
The body of the girl was found about 50 feet away from the boy. She wore a yellow ghagra (traditional skirt) and kurta, and red and white bangles.
Police said that both bodies were found in a facial position and disintegrated beyond the possibility of facial identification.
Chaudhary said that both the bodies are for several days, it turned black due to decomposition. Prima Facial, he said, the couple died due to dehydration.
Pakistani identity cards near the bodies inspired the police to identify their nationality.
Why did the couple cross illegally in India?
District coordinator of Cement Lok Sangathan Dilip Singh Soda said that the boy is from Sindh province of Pakistan. He applied for a pilgrimage visa in India about 1.5 years ago.
Cement Lok Sangathan is a right to advocacy group for Pakistani minority migrants in the country.
When the boy lost all the expectations of getting an Indian visa, Soda said, he decided to cross the border with his wife.
Soda said, “He wanted to live in India. He somehow entered the Indian territory, but unfortunately died in the hope of a better life.” The official broadcast the details of the ID card of the deceased on social media and came into contact with the boy’s relatives in Jaisalmer, who later confirmed his identity.
According to the boy’s relatives, his bike was found about 20 km from the body, and the bodies were found about 12–13 km inside India. “It suggests that he moved to the desert for several kilometers. He had a Jerry Can found close to the boy’s face. It indicates that he ran out of the water and died due to dehydration,” Soda said.
Additionally, Jaisalmer Circle Officer Roop Singh Indra said that the police have sought information about the boy’s visa application from the registration office of the local foreigners. “We have not yet received any details about it,” the news agency said.
The postmortem examination of the couple’s bodies has been completed, the official said that the last rites will be performed by the local authorities.
