New Delhi: The IAS Central Association convened its general body meeting in New Delhi on 26 July 2025, during which a new executive committee was selected to pursue the association. Senior bureaucrat S Krishnan, a 1989 batch officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, was elected as the new President.The committee included Sri Ram Tarnakanti from Tripura cadre (1992 batch) and Union Territories cadre (1996 batch) as Vice President. Kunal, a 2005 batch officer of UT cadre, has taken over as Secretary, while Aditi Singh will work as a treasurer from Uttar Pradesh cadre (2009 batch). Officials of a wide range of the state have been included as members, including Chinme Gatemare, Shelesh Naval, Rahul Singh, D Thara, Shah Faisal and others. Two retired officers, Sanjay Bandopadhyay and Sanjay Bhosreddy were also nominated as part of the committee.In his first address as President, S. Krishnan underlined the requirement of the IAS community to strengthen its value in the public system through collaborative engagement, moral leadership and institutional contribution. He talked about advising young officers, increasing positive work of service in public domains and strengthening cooperation with state associations. Krishnan also called for unity among the members and urged them to make a purposeful use of digital platforms to highlight the successes of governance and to create more public beliefs in civil services.The newly elected team expects to focus on increasing the visibility, harmony and impact of the IAS Association in the developed scenario of Indian rule.
