A Venezuela refugee who escaped from political harassment is warning that the socialist policies pushed by Zoharan Mamdani, the candidate of New York City, will bring equal difficulty for the US.
27 -year -old Franklin Kemargo told Fox News Digital, “The youth who are still trying to support socialist ideas because they feel that this time will be different – it will not be different.” “You do not want the government to determine your life. You do not want the government to stop you from aspirations, by desires, chasing your own happiness, trust me. I believe, you don’t want that.”
A Democratic Socialist, Mammadani, who received the Democratic Party nomination for the Mayor of New York City in June, focused on making the city more economical for the average resident. His platform includes cold fare prices, public housing investment, city-owned grocery stores, “no-cost” childcare and high taxes on corporations and rich. Mamdani has advocated more equality in the city, state and country, and argued that there should be no billionaire.
But Camerago, who survived the rule of dictator Nicolas Maduro, argues that the problems faced by New Yorsors are the result of government intervention and statue, not individualism or capitalism. He said that the policies by Mamdani are “anti -American” and have given disastrous results in Venezuela, Cuba, Soviet Union and North Korea.

Cargos were only one year old when Hugo Chavez came to power in Venezuela in 1999. His parents and grandparents lived in a rich nation, once the fourth largest gross domestic product per person in the world. But the Carnches saw Venezuela collapsing under “aggressive” socialist policies: fare control, nationalization of industries, censorship, and attacks on rich.
“He made it impossible for the average person to survive without the help of the government,” Camerago recalled.
As a child, Camerago visited the US twice on family holidays. Those trips left a permanent impression.
“I remember technology, being amazed by cars, how organized this country was,” he said. “I was also influenced by grocery stores – different types of Oreos, diversity of milk,” he recalled.

The Kogaro did not know anything about politics or economics, but realized that separate views were being implemented in the United States, and he wanted to learn more.
In his adolescence, Camerago immersed himself in economists Milton Freedman, Adam Smith and American history works. He became a vocal lawyer for capitalism, giving speeches and media interviews.
His activism carried forward huge costs. While studying therapy, he was expelled and a “terrorist” brand to challenge the socialist ideology on the premises. His cousin was imprisoned and tortured for his political beliefs. Facing threats to his own life, Kemargo fled to the United States in 2019 and now serves as a political commentator and presenter for Preseru.
They are afraid that the same unsuccessful socialist policies are receiving traction in progressive cities like New York.
“Mamdani is a Venezuela, a Soviet Union, a Cuba type socialist,” said Kemargo. “He is talking about the nationalization of the means of production. Chavez did so that in most industries in Venezuela. He is talking about destroying billionaires. Chavez thought that the rich have a lot of money, and he left after them. And he built a similar society – everyone is equally poor. Everyone is equally poor.

Failure to return to these posts of Mamdani may resonate in the Democratic Party: ‘Five-Alarm Warning’
He is calling Americans to embrace ideas and values that make this nation unique.
He said, “America is the largest nation on earth due to the values that establish this country,” they continued. “In 1776, there was nothing like that – the idea that the government should only exist to protect personal rights, and that every person has the right to pursue their happiness. This does not mean that the government is happy to make you happy.”
He said, “This does not mean that the government is going to give you food or housing … or you need to give anything for free,” he said. “Because the famous quotation says, ‘A big government that is much bigger to give you is much bigger to take away from you.”
He warned the young Americans who adopt socialist promises that they would regret it.
“Socialism has been implemented every time, it does not work,” said Camerago. “This time will not be different.”
Zoharan Mamdani’s campaign did not immediately return the request for Fox News Digital’s comment.
