Trump, who raised voice, wants to end mass bloodshed in Eastern Europe, on Monday called multilateral meetings “a very good, initial step for a war for almost four years.”
In a true social post after the discussion, Trump wrote, “I held a very good meeting with iconic guests,” and “and” everyone is very happy with the possibility of peace for Russia/Ukraine. ,
Here are the top five takeaairs from the President’s “Big Day” with European leaders.
1. Smiles around
The Monday’s summit marked a dramatic and noticeable change in February with the meeting of Trump and Vice President JD Vance with Zelanceci in February.

During that meeting, the leaders were caught on camera, meeting in a hot argument on several subjects, including Zelanski, allegedly not sufficiently grateful for American support.
On Monday, all the stress had disappeared. Both Trump and Zelanski smiled all the day, and the Ukrainian leader warmly welcomed Trump’s cabinet, including Vance, State Secretary Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Both Zelansky and European leaders appeared more comfortably with Trump throughout the day and took an optimistic tone. After the meetings, the European Union President Ursula von dera Leyen posted on X, “We are here, as partners and friends, for peace in Ukraine and Europe. This is an important moment, because we continue to work on a strong security guarantee for Ukraine and a permanent and durable peace.”
2. Wardrobe upgrade
Since February, another marked shift was Zelancesi, who was breaking up with his trademark jumpsuit dress to wear a suit, something that he joked with the press sitting in the Oval office with Trump.
Zelansky, who was criticized to wear a casual dress for meetings with world leaders, wore an all-black dress, including a button-down shirt and jacket.

“First … President Zelanski, you look fantastic in that suit,” a reporter told Zelancesi after sitting with Trump in the Oval Office.
“You look good,” Trump said that the reporter said, “I said the same thing.”
At another point during the Zelanceci-Tram bilateral press meeting, the Ukrainian President ribbed a reporter to wear the same suit in February.
“You are in the same suit. You see, I have changed, you are not,” Zelancesi quipped because both he and Trump burst into laughter.
3. There is no need for ceasefire
On a more solid note, Trump doubled his position that a ceasefire is “not required” for a permanent peace broker between Ukraine and Russia. He cited his recent successes in interacting on peace agreements between other countries around the world.
Trump said during his press conference with Zelansky, “I don’t think you need a ceasefire. You know, if you see six deals this year, they were all in war.”
Senate indicated the readiness of Russia to hit Russia with tough restrictions when Shanti deal failed.

“I did not have any struggle,” he was moving forward, adding, “and I know it can be good, but I can also understand strategically, why you know, one country or another won’t want it.”
During the day of a rare stress during the day, Trump clashed at the need for a ceasefire with German Chancellor Frederick Merz.
Talking with Trump and other leaders gathered around a large conference table at the White House, “To be honest, we all want to see a ceasefire in the latest from the next meeting,” adding, “I can’t imagine that the next meeting would be without a struggle break. So, let’s work on it.”
He urged the leaders, “Let’s try to pressurize Russia, because the credibility of this effort, the efforts we are making today, at least, at least, is a ceasefire from the onset of serious negotiations with the next step.
In response, Trump shot back that he is set without a ceasefire “to go directly to the peace agreement”, saying “Okay, we are going to let the President go to go. [Zelenskyy] Go and talk to the President [Putin]And we will see how it works. ,

4. United European Front

It is doubling Zelansky on Sunday that Ukraine will not agree to Russia or any of its fields for Russia as part of a peace deal.
“Since the regional issue is so important, Tripal should be discussed only by the leaders of Ukraine and Russia. [talks with] Ukraine, the United States, Russia, “Zelancesi said.
Trump said that although the US would be involved with providing Ukraine with safety guarantee after the end of the war, he said that Europe should take most of that “burden”, moving forward.
“I think the European nations are going to carry a lot of burden,” said Trump. “We are going to help them, and we are going to make it very safe. We also need to discuss the possible exchanges of the region keeping in mind the current line of contact. This means the war area, war line center. Very clear. Very sad, in fact, to see them and interact on positions.”
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe is aware of the fact that it would keep the weight of various security guarantees a lot more – and admitted that it is necessary to preserve the security of each concerned country.

“For Ukraine and for the entire continent for such a long peace, we need a safety guarantee,” Macron said. “And the first is clearly a reliable Ukrainian army. For the coming years and decades. And the second is our own commitment. We all … You can make sure that Europeans are very clear about the fact that they have a proper share in the safety guarantee for Ukraine, but their own safety is clearly at stake in this position.”
5. On Putin Line
Trump shared that he called Putin after the meetings and the next step is already agitation, that is, a meeting time has been set for a meeting between Zelancesi and the Russian President. After that meeting, Trump said that there would then be a tripartite meeting between Zelansky, Putin and himself.
