The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said on Friday that it is planning to reduce its workforce by 23% and shut down its research and development office.
The Trump administration has a loss of more than 3,000 employees after the trump administration’s widespread efforts to streamline the federal government, to leave the agency.
EPA administrator Lee Zeldin said in a statement, “Under the leadership of President Trump, the EPA has taken a close watch on our operations to ensure that the agency has better equipped to complete our main mission to protect human health and environment.”

“This decrease in force will ensure that we can complete that mission better, while the dollar is responsible for your hard work.”
The EPA said the cut would save the government $ 748.8 million.

As part of the reorganization, the EPA stated that it is planning to open a new office of applied science and environmental solutions to change the research and development office, saying that the new office will allow it to focus on research.
