According to the White House, America is not interested in open-ended funding for Ukraine amidst the ongoing peace talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to the White House press secretary Karolin Levit, President Donald Trump, who refused to send American troops to the ground to support Ukraine, “sensitive to American taxpayer’s needs”.
“He made it clear that we would not continue writing vacant checks to fund a war for a very far war, which is why he came up with a very creative solution to NATO to buy American weapons, as it is best in the world, and then to return the needs of the Ukrainian army and Ukrainian people to his army,” Lewet told on Tuesday.

“So this is the solution that has come with the President. We will continue to look forward,” said Lewit. “For any extra sale, I have to refer to you to the Department of Defense.”

Meanwhile, Trump approved a deal in July, allowing European colleagues to buy American weapons such as Patriot missile defense systems for Ukraine.
Levit’s comments echoed by Vice President JD Vance, who after meetings with European officials in Britain on August 10, told European leaders that the US “has been” done with the funding of the US “Ukraine war business,” and European colleagues should take a big responsibility to end the struggle.

“What we said to the Europeans, first of all, it is in your neck, it is in your back door,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News, “It is in your neck, first of all, it is in your back door.” “You guys have got to move in this matter and play a big role, and if you care so much about this struggle, you should be ready to play this war more directly and more directly in financed yourself.”
