The 6th Asian Yogasan Championship began on 9 August 2025 at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujirah, UAE, assembled 160 athletes from 160 countries. Organized under HH’s protection Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Shaur, Crown Prince of Fujirah, shows the increasing prominence of the United Arab Emirates as a hub for yoga game, with many major initiatives, training and leadership development within the Championship Asian Yogasana Sports Federation (AYSF).
A continental performance of yoga excellence
The 6th Asian Yogasana Championship (UAE 2025) is being held in two days at Zayed Sports Complex, Fujirah. The event is organized under the aegis of the UAE Ministry of Sports, in partnership with the Asian Yogasan Sports Federation (AYSF), UAE Sports for All Federation and UAE Yoga Committee. This year’s theme, “Yoga beyond boundaries”Peace, inclusion, and yogasana underlines the integrated ethos of yoga by bringing cultures, nations and communities together to share for goodness through sports. The championship has attracted 160 athletes from 16 countries including India, Syria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Iraq, Pakstan, Indonesia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Iran, Philippines and others. The dignitaries included Mohammad Al Dhahauri and Shekha Al Kabi (member of the Federal National Council), Salem Yusaf Al Kaser (President, Emirates Sports for Federation), and Noof Marawai (Chairman, AYSF). The site, the Zayed Sports Complex, is known for its high-end features and hosted many international sports events, making it a suitable platform for this prestigious championship.
AYSF expansion footprint and leadership development
The Asian Yogasan Sports Federation (AYSF), the governing body for Yogasana Games in Asia, was officially established in 2019, the founder under the leadership of post -decades founders Dr. Gopal ji and Mr. Ramesh Lohan from 1992 today. Today, AYSF consists of more than 15 National Yoga Association, including Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nepal, Iran and Indonesia. A historic development took place in November 2024, when AYSF held its 6th General Assembly in Dubai. During the assembly:
- Saudi Yoga Committee chief Noof Al-Marwai was elected president of AYSF.
- The AYSF International Headquarters was officially transferred to the UAE.
- Federation started its inauguration Asian excellence award ceremony During this assembly.
- Fifteen national associations participated, re -confirmed regional cooperation in yoga game.
These decisions strategically deployed UAE as a prominent player in the global yoga movement, promoting partnership, youth engagement and intercontinental exchange.
Strengthening the game: Training and certification initiative
In line with the mission of AYSF to raise standards in Asia, Africa and Arabia and build elite-level capacity, the second AYSF Yogasana coach and referee training camp was held in Dubai in UAE Center for Sports Sciences and Sports Medicine on 16 to 18 May 2025. The program completes participants from UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, Syria and other countries. The camp offered internationally recognized certification track:
- Yogasan Coaching Certification: AYSF’s official competitive courses, athlete preparations, biomechanics and security.
- Yogasana Referee Certification: Protocols, scoring systems and moral outline were identified to the global standards of AYSF.
Under the leadership of expert instructors in India, the birthplace of yoga, training ensured rigorous instructions and professional excellence for national level caretaker and coaching.
Recognizer
Parallel to the two -day championship, the Asian Yoga Excellence Awards is being held, honoring six major individuals from Asia, who played an important role in advancing yoga within their communities and contributing to global welfare, peace and cultural protection. The nomination stopped on 30 May 2025, and recipients are being selected by an international panel of experts to ensure merit-based recognition in areas such as innovation, leadership, youth empowerment and international cooperation.AYSF also celebrates the moments of its heritage. In particular, for the first time the Asian Yogasana Sports Championship was held on 26-27 July 2019 in Dhaka, where Indian athletes won the opening trophy with a notable Dhona of 22 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. This milestone program was organized by the Bangladesh Yogasan Association under the right to the Global Yoga alliance.
