Abu Dhabi -based Etihad Airways has achieved a major operating milestone, which has first taken over 20 million passengers in a gap of 12 months. The airline recorded a strong growth in July 2025, supported by an expansion fleet and a broad destination network.
Strong monthly and year-on-year growth
Etihad Airways recorded a significant increase in passenger traffic in July 2025, flying 2.0 million passengers, increased from 1.7 million to 19% in 2024 during the same month. Airline passenger load factor – A major metric shows how efficiently an airline fills the available seats – in July 2024 climbed 89% to a percentage point. In the first seven months of 2025, Etihad has transported 12.2 million passengers, showing an increase of 10.4 million to 17% year-to-year growth during the same period in 2024. Compared to 86% in the equal period of last year, the average load factor so far for the year has increased by 88%.These figures underline stable and constant demand in the airline’s global network, which contributes to its rapid increase in performance from year to year.
Milestone achievement: 12 months of passenger record
The airline’s rolling 12 -month -old passenger has reached a total of 20.3 million, crossing the 20 million mark for the first time in his history. This achievement keeps Etihad firmly among the fastest growing carriers in the region.Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, Antonoldo Neos, while commenting on the milestone highlighted the strength of the demand and the airline’s ability to effectively score. He noted the record July data and emphasized that the trust customers have been continued in the carrier’s network and service prasad.
Fleet growth and new aircraft delivery
Etihad’s operating fleet now consists of 94 to 111 aircraft in July 2024. This includes aircraft under short -term ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) leases, and also includes fetter aircraft. In July 2025 alone, the airline added five new aircraft, marking it as a record acquisition month. Acceptance includes:
- 2 Boeing 787s
- 1 Airbus A350-1000
- 1 Airbus A320
- 1 Airbus A321LR – The first of the airline
The induction of A321LR is an important step in Etihad’s fleet strategy, which expands limit and efficiency in moderate-hall operations. These new aircraft support the ongoing efforts of the airline to increase capacity and modernize their fleet while maintaining operational efficiency.
Network expansion and destination growth
Etihad has also continued to expand its global reach. By July 2025, the airline now operates flights to 76 to 81 passenger destinations a year ago. The additional five destinations are a result of the active network development strategy of Etihad, which aligns with its growing fleet size and market demand. This increase in the destination count supports the trend upwards in passenger number, providing more travel options in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and beyond major markets.
