Connecting through the United Kingdom and connecting through Saudi Arabia will now experience the transit process of a very smooth airport. Thanks for a new signed One-stop security agreement Between the Government of UK and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia, UK passengers will now have to undergo a second round of security screening while passing through Saudi airports. This bilateral agreement is designed to reduce long -term waiting time and simplify travel experiences for travelers connecting in Asia, Africa and Middle East through the Saudi hub. Earlier, even passengers had to re -clean local safety checks to move through Saudi Arabia, adding stress, time, and often adding the legs to their journey.
How changes work
The major change lies in mutual recognition: Saudi Arabia will now be valid for transit purposes on safety screening held at UK airports. This means that passengers who have already gone through the security of the airport at places like London Heathro, Manchester, or Birmingham, will not be re -displayed at King Abduliaz International Airport in Saudi entry points such as King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh or in Jeddah. According to Mohammad al-Fawzan, Executive Vice President for Aviation Safety at GACA, “This agreement reflects the high level of trust and alignment between the security structures of the two countries.” He also emphasized that the agreement is expected to “significantly reduce the transit waiting time and improve the overall travel experience, especially for those who make further connections through Saudi airports for Asia, Africa and the Middle East.”
Benefits for GCC and long-hall passengers
The agreement is a success not only for the UK-based passengers but also for the residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who often begin their long journey through the UK airports. Many passengers from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar often cross through the Saudi hub when flying from Britain to destinations such as India, Southeast Asia and parts of Africa. By eliminating fruitless safety processes, the new policy will save time, reduce stress, and offer more comfortable travel – especially beneficial for it:
- Business travelers on tight program
- Complex Navigating families
- Repeated flying people demanding convenience and efficiency
Additionally, this step supports the broad vision of converting Saudi Arabia’s broad vision into a global aviation hub. Modernization of airport infrastructure and growth of passenger experience are the major columns of its national aviation strategy.
A strategic victory for both countries
One-stop security agreement marks a new level of cooperation between UK and Saudi Arabia in civil aviation and national security. This signals increased confidence in each other’s airport screening system and bring Saudi Arabia to global standards that favor passenger convenience without compromising safety. For travelers, the effect is immediate and practical: rapid transfer, low delay and more enjoyable travel experience. As travel rebounds globally and Saudi Arabia keep their major airports as competitive transit hubs, this development can attract more international travelers to use Saudi airports to use Saudi airports, as a lowover points, not only out of need, but also in choice.
