On 29 July, the US embassy told Mea that it plans to bring all the USAID operations to a close “by 15 August 2025,” the Center told the Rajya Sabha.

Effective from 1 July, the operation of USAID officially closed. About 83 percent of its programs were abolished, and 94 percent of its employees were discontinued. The state department took responsibility for the remaining 17 percent of the operation and foreign aid administration of USAID, Singh said.

Britis also asked whether the government has received details of expenditure on all USAID projects in India in the last three years, sought through the US Embassy.
