Do you support the idea of impeachment against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanash Kumar?
This comment comes after a line between Rahul Gandhi and the Election Commission on the allegations of “vote churi” in Karnataka. On Sunday, Gyanash Kumar dismissed Rahul’s allegations as “insult” to the constitution, so that he would either ask for an apology within seven days. Kumar said at a press conference in Delhi, “An affidavit should be given or the country should be forgiven. Tesra is a handicap Nahi (there is no third option).”Rahul Gandhi questioned the impartiality of the pole body, pointing to BJP’s Anurag Thakur. He said, “The Election Commission asks for an affidavit from me. But when Anurag Thakur says what I am saying, it does not ask him an affidavit,” he said. Congress leaders accused the CEC of looking like a BJP spokesperson. Pawan Khera commented, “It seemed that the BJP was speaking today. Did he react to 1 lakh voters revealed by us in Mahadevpura?”Rahul Gandhi had earlier accused of large -scale irregularities in Mahadevpura assembly constituency, claiming that more than one lakh votes were “stolen” through duplicate and invalid entries. He also accused the body of “destroying evidence” by limiting CCTV footage storage to 45 days. While the CEC insisted that the Election Commission stood with voters “like a rock” and dismissed the claims as baseless, RJD and JMM’s opposition leader joined the Congress demanding clarity on Gandhi’s documents and allegations. The conflict has deepened the stand-off between the opposition and the polling body, which has now intensified with Hussain’s suggestion that the “all weapons of democracy” remain on the table.
