US President Donald Trump has nominated Sergio Gore as the next US ambassador to India. If confirmed by the Senate, Gore will also serve as a special messenger for South and Central Asian affairs, an area that includes Pakistan and Bangladesh, where there are currently no ambassador in the US.Trump announced a step on social media, calling Gore a “great friend” and he could fully trust someone to give someone on his agenda. Trump wrote, “For the most populous region in the world, it is important that I have a person that I can help to bring to my agenda and make America great again. Sergio will create an incredible ambassador.”Gore Eric Garceti would replace a Democratic appointment, who returned to California after the end of the Biden Presidency.
Who is Sergio Gore?
- Gore was born in Tashkant, Uzbekistan, when it was part of the Soviet Union. His family moved to America in 1999 when he was about 12 years old. His father,
Yuri Gorokhowski Was an aviation engineer involved in designing the Soviet aircraft, including the IL-76 used by the Indian Air Force. His mother is called Israeli origin. - He grew up in Los Angeles before leaving for Washington, DC to study at the University of George Washington near the White House.
