Residents in Lurgan of County Armagh have returned to their homes after arson attack on a house in the city on Saturday morning.
This occurred on a derogatory property – a listed building – at around 01:00 BST in Windsor Avenue.
Many residents had to quit their properties, while the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) dealt with the explosion.
NIFRS said, but there was no injury, but significant damage has occurred.
Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) councilor Peter Hair told BBC News Ni: “We are lucky that there were no injuries.
“There are businesses and houses next to it and we can see a different story today.
“This is a listed building and it was beautiful to look once.
“The owners do not live in the country. It is disastrous.
“I appeal to those people behind this arson attack.”
Two women working in the nearby New Heaven Cafe told BBC News Ni that she was very lucky that today we have a job “.
Joan said, “We are right next door, where there was fire and was very lucky that it does not spread to the cafe.”
Barbara, who worked with Joan, said that it was a “shock like this” was such a shock.
“Nobody wants this. Whoever is behind it should be stopped. Someone could be killed,” he said.
