A team spokesperson said that the legendary New York Yankis Pichkar Mariano Riviera on Saturday injured an Akilies during the club’s 77th old Timers Day Game. New York Daily News.
Fellow former Yenkis Pitcher Roder Clamens revealed an injury in an interview for the first time during the WFAN broadcast of the Yenkis Game.
“It was a fun day until we only heard about Mariano. Mariano hurt his Akilis,” Clemens said. “I think he is now in the hospital.”

Riviera produced a highlights from Saturday’s Old-Timers Day Game when he came to bat and hit the same with former team partner and partner Yankis’ veteran Andy Petite.
Saturday’s Old-Timers Day recalled Yankis’ 2000 World Series victory over Crossstown rival New York Mates. Riviera, Clamens and Petite were all prominent players of that team.
Riviera became the first and only player to be chosen for the baseball hall of fame when he joined 2019.

55 -year -old Riviera supported President Donald Trump during Trump’s 2024 Presidential campaign.
“President Trump, he is my friend,” Riviera said on WABC radio “Sid and Friends.” “I can’t deny this. I will tell anyone. Before he was the President, he was my friend. Because of this, I am going to vote for him.”
